The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Alhaji Muhammad Nanono, has said the Federal Government would establish information technology workshop in 632 Local Government Areas (LGAs) in the country. The technology workshop, according to the minister is in line with the agricultural mechanization programme of the FG. Nanono said this when he received the Governor of Benue State, Dr Samuel Ortom, in his office in Abuja. The policy, he stated, would ensure that Nigeria achieved food security, job creation and economic growth. Nanono explained that the initiative was expected to involve a full technology package transfer that would cover all stages, from agricultural production to industrial processing and marketing.
